Wan Hai Lines places 50,000 TEU order with container manufacturer CIMC
Wan Hai Lines has placed an order of 50,000 TEU of dry freight containers from China International Marine Containers Ltd (CIMC).
The deal has an estimate of $ 141.73M U.S. dollars. The order will mainly consist of 40ft High Cubes. It is not the first time that Wan Hai Lines and CIMC close an enormous deal. In 2020 Wan Hai Lines ordered 37,000 TEU from the same company worth US$109M.
In January, Wan Hai Lines made a deal with Nihon Shipyard, a joint venture between Imabari Shipbuilding and Japan Marine United, for a total of US$ 565.2M. Wan Hai Lines ordered 12 x 3,000 TEU container ships for their intra-Asian trades.
