China is still upside down
There is still a lot of delay in several container ports in China. More than 130 ships are waiting to pick up or unload their cargo.
The greatest congestion is in the east central regions around Nantong, Shanghai and Ningbo as well as in the southeast in Shekou, ShenZhen and Yantian. This means that around 3% of the worldwide container trade has come to a standstill if we calculate this in TEU (Twenty-Foot Equivalent Unit).
The problems in these regions show once again that global trade is very fragile and sensitive. It also creates a lot of uncertainty among global consumers about whether goods will be delivered on time and whether products will increase in price.
